NOTE: I have put off my plans to start a CSA. I realized that my CSA plans were premature. My goals for 2009 are to build the farm infrastructure and livestock herds and increase my farming know-how. I will decide in the fall of 2009 if I should start a CSA for the 2010 season, or if I should hold off until 2011.

Beginning in 2009, I hope to offer shares in a meat CSA. CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture, a novel and increasingly popular arrangement between farmers and the people they feed.

Ideally, the Stony Brook Farm CSA will be established as a partnership with an existing vegetable/fruit CSA so that shareholders are able to get their meat and vegetables at the same location and time. This not only saves time, but also fuel.

The details of the CSA are to be determined. I will update this page as soon as I have a solid plan.
